Upcoming Tata Punch Mirco-SUV To Get Four Variants

The Tata Punch is all ready for the 4th of October reveal, and while the company has already shown us what it will look like on the inside and out there are still a few details that are yet to be officially confirmed.It has now been revealed that the Tata Punch will come in 4 variants -  Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. The Punch notably gets a new nomenclature for its trims that is different from other Tata models, which get trims like XE, XM, XT, XZ, and so on. Color options offered on the Punch are three monotone shades and six dual-tone colours.The exact features haven't been revealed but expect the top trim Punch to get 7-inch free-floating touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It could further get Tata’s latest iRA connected car technology as well.  The Punch gets the Altroz’ semi-digital instrument cluster with analog markings for the speedometer and a large 7-inch color display for gear position indicator, RPM, fuel level, trip meter, distance to empty, and various other info.

Dimensionally, the Punch is expected to be 3,840mm in length, 1,822mm in width, 1,635mm in height, and will have a wheelbase of 2,450mm. The Punch will have a ground clearance of 187mm. It will have a boot capacity of 366 litres and will ride on 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Under the hood, at launch, the Punch will be powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 86hp and 113Nm of torque. This engine already does duty on the Tiago, Tigor and Altroz, and will come mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox. The Punch will even feature engine start/stop functionality to aid fuel efficiency and the AMT gearbox will additionally feature traction modes as we have seen in some bigger Tata SUVs. Safety features will include dual front airbags, ABS with Brake Sway Control (BSC), EBD, electronic stability control, and a rear parking camera.

Price announcement will happen closer to mid-October, and it is expected to range from INR 5.50 lakh to INR 8 lakh.
